Station LPO: the Bird Protection League

Ligue pour la Protection des Oiseaux, Île-Grande, Pleumeur-Bodou

Around 1 000 injured or distressed birds are rescued here every year. About 50% are sea birds. These convalescent species are treated by a specialized team for the care of the oiled birds and they are reintegrated as soon as posible into their natural habitat.

A playful exhibition will let you to discover the story of these birds. You won’t feel indifferent about the humans impacts on their fragile ecological balance – and the necesity to protect them.

Dont miss the commented “real time movie” about the colony of more than 20 000 Gannets couples that nestles on the Rouzic Island, from January to october. You will observe their fascinating behaviors as if you were so close to them and their little families!

You can learn a lot about them through this visit that goes hand-in-hand with a boat trip around the 7 Islands Archipelago.
